3rd Gear Grinding?

Hello everyone,
Newbie here. I got my IX a few months ago and I noticed something weird happening. When shifting into 3rd my clutch has to be pushed hard to the floor, otherwise it will grind a little. This is definitly not normal, right? btw, I have about 4000 miles on the car, all originally mine. Thank you in advance.

Sounds like a clutch cable needing to be re-adjusted or maybe a synchro, either TAKE IT TO THE DEALER.

Overall the Evo likes to have the clutch to the floor to shift. It's the same with my '03, especially on the 1st to 2nd shift. It's most likely normal, but like Aux. said, take it in if you think it's not right.

Thanks for the feedback. The rest of my gears (1,2,4,5) shift great witht he clutch pedal about 3/4 of the way in. I am going to take it to the dealer now seeing as though I have not put any mods in it yet.

Man they still haven't worked the syncro issues out. FWIW It is normal and on my 03 it was 4th gear and after bugging the dealer to death they finally fixed the issue. However, 5th gear was the problem after the fix. On the Evo five speed syncro problems were the norm back in the day. I was hoping by the IX they got that worked out. Guess not!

I will try to take it in on Thursday and see if I can get it fixed. This sounds like it is an ongoing problem which may never be fully fixed....
