My IX is just giving me ISSUES!!!

Well, saw a couple of threads asking for grinding problems and whatnot. Figured this could be an all inclusive not just for the trannies. Nonetheless, I have a IX MR with 3400 miles on it.

-Just got out of the dealer for a BAD OIL PUMP SEAL!!!
-The 1-2 shift clunk is RIDICULOUS!
-I have this mysterious almost inaudible noise...vacuum leak sound since I picked it up from the dealer for the oil seal
-THE BRAKES! For the love of all that is HOLY...Why do the brakes squeak so damned bad?!
-ROCK CHIP ON THE HOOD! Not that that is the IX's fault!
-E-brake handle flew off...NO...I wasn't trying to drift. Came off 5 days after having the car.

I know....nitpicking things but coming from a SRT-4 and the cheaply made car that it was, I was stoked about the refinement the Evo had. Maybe the honeymoon period is over. I am just meticulous about my car and I have my little quirks with it.

Anyone else?

Kris

My current 9 is perfect, so was my 03.

Have you done any maintenance?
I've done the following:
1500 oil change
2500 oil change
4000 rear diff, and transfer case
5000 tranny

My IX will not boost over 1 BAR in any gear except 6th where I hit a massive 1.2 BAR. Timing was adjusted a week after the car was purchased because it was supposedly 7degrees off. Car began to have a loud whining noise coming from the belt right after the timing was adjusted. Etc.......

it could be those black recaro with alcantra/suede seats causing that, i'll go ahead and take those off your hands if you want......but seriously though, i dont think most of the problems u stated are common, i would take it back to your dealership and *****, 30k cars arent suppose to do most of waht your talking about

My tranny is quirky on my IX. But I am at almost 6000 miles and it just starting to smooth out. Hopefully you will get past this bad period with your evo.

My brand new IX now has under 700 miles on it. It had a 1-2 gear upshift clunk... now it has vanished and it has moved to the 2-3 upshift. It's driving me crazy as well. With downshifts I don't experience it but, with every upshift from 2-3 I will get it and the engine rpm isn't a factor. I'm taking it in this weekend to have them look at it. Yeah, my brakes squeal too. It's kind of a "high performance brake" thing. My calipers on my old BMW M Coupe didn't do this but, they weren't at the same level as these Brembo's either. Maybe everything needs to break in, who knows. I do know this though, this clunk and grind isn't good for anything... especially my tranny. I just hope that it's breaking in and that things will mesh up down the road.

That sucks man. I have about 3000 miles and have none of the issues you speak of in my regular IX. My tranny was notchy when I first got it, but its really smooth now. My brakes don't squeal either, but if it does start, I wouldn't mind it as they are performance brakes. I had my oil changed at 2500 miles and the only real 'problem' that I've had was blowing off my clamps, but ever since, the car has been a dream.
