I'm too loud for Germany. PLS help!!

I just moved to Germany and tried to get my 04 Evo past inspection. Everything was fine til he fired it up. I have a Buschur TBE with Catdelete. I know thats why its so loud, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the Hi-flow cat from Buschur and the new muffler David put out would bring down the decibel w/o taking away from power. If its not worth it pls LMK.

Why don't you just put your stock system/muffler back on, pass, then back to TEB

I would put the stocker back on if I had it, but my house hold goods arent here yet. And as for acceptable levels... Thats the biatch of it all, it states on the inspection form, in bold letters, "EXCESSIVE NOISE"... thats it. Some retard gets to make an opinion on how loud it is. Thats Germany for ya.

Let me guess, it's the guys on base who are doing the inspection right. What base are you at?

You should try ordering the high flow cat and magnaflow muffler. After you pass inspection take to the hobby shop and remove and haul A$$ on the autobahn .

^ Yea, the high flow and magnaflow will help but it might not be enough if the inspector is really picky.

I just emailed David Buschur about the new Bullett muffler and Hi-flow cat. Hopefully I can get it soon. And yes the inspection is on Base. I heard they have another guy there who could care less so I'm gonna try him as well. But can anyone tell me if it the hi-flow cat will have me lose much power? I do care how my neighbors feel about the level, so I am gonna purchase the cat anyway, just wondering on the power.. thanks all

Dude, I lived in Germany for 5 years... their inspection process (TUV or whatever it's called) is' freaking grueling. It takes divine intervention to get a car on the road in that country. (I guess that's why you never see beaters there). But it also makes sense because a car needs to be reliable on the autobahn with BMW's and Porsche's hammering down at you going 130 mph.

Europe has very strict laws on how loud exhaust systems are. That is why for example the company Blue Flame has a plug you can take out to make the exhaust louder, and leave it in for quieter exhaust.

Im guessing your buschur exhaust is a slip fit so i would agree with trying to get a stock system on and then putting you buschur right back on i mean if you have to wait for buschur to send you that stuff your personal items might be there just as soon

Im right down the road in Belgium and I think the car inspections in Europe are well needed. Sure some cars "slip" by but in a place where you can LEGALY max your car out and experience the Ring, its good to know your car is in good condition. Yeah the exhaust thing sucks, but yours didnt come with a silencer?

Sorry to hear that, but I already knew that it could potencially happen, the German annual inspection(TUV) is very strict and they not only check the exhaust but also they check for wheel and tires fittment, suspension work, lights, and just about everything.

I think you should slap the HF cat on and just do a muffler (perhaps a Dynomax or Magnaflow), also you can put a small non restrictive silencer in line, just like my Greddy Evo which comes with a extra silencer.

Sergio(Evofunk) just changed his cat back from a LPI 3" to a Greddy Evo II in prepartion to his coming trip to Germany.

Also you can ultimately install the stock exhaust just for the inspection.

Slip the guy a few euros and maybe then he'll think your exhaust is quieter.
