I want a IX MR now!!

I have an '03 evo 8 and now I want a IX. WHy you might ask?? I just got done tuning my car with all of my mods (I/C pipes, 3"TBE, intake, Dynoflash, SAFC, inj/rail) and I am making 350whp corrected (283 uncorrected for CO sh**y air)

My friend just bought an IX MR and STOCK he is making 292whp/297 tq. (240 corrected) He will put his exhaust 3" exhaust this week and he will probably gain about 20 more hp. So that means for all of the stuff that I have done to my car he will only be about 20 horse behind me with an exhaust only. And he still hasn't voided his warranty.

Jealousy you ask.....mmmmmm just a little bit. The IX's are definetely the way to go. Might have to trade in the 8

why buy an MR when you can get a GSR and the money you save from not buying a MR you could put into mods. i never saw the attraction of the extra money for the MR, just my .02

cause you can get the same power with less mods and never void your warranty. I probably won't ever trade my 8 cause I love it, but the 9 is awesome.

I see what you are saying. I should have posted just the 9 in general. doesn't have to be the MR version....but a 9 in general makes such great power.

YOu can get a lot of extra power out of adding an exhaust and adding an exhaust won't void your warranty.

I can't decide either between the IX MR and the GSR. WHICH ONE? More colors for GSR plus the Sund, Sound, and Leather package which has HIDs. I'd rather have stock HID's then trying to fit new ones in cause I'm not too mechanic savvy. But the MR has that sweet @$$ Graphite Gray and the shocks and the even sicker BBS wheels, but the stereo isn't up to my audiophile standards. And the black housing. Any ideas?

Thanks, RobDogg. I didn't realize that. Damn me.

Oh boy.. another bandwagoner!

Go ahead and spend the extra cash to get an extra 30-40awhp more without voiding the warranty! Once your warranty is over.. what will the difference be then?

I owe just $23k left on my 8 and have spent over $5k in mods (exhaust, reflash, boost controller, k&n drop-in, vortex generator, navigation/dvd unit, etc..), I have all the options of the 03' (sunroof, gauge kit, carbon fiber e-brake handle, racing pedals, etc..). I would be throwing all that down the drain just to get a faster car mod-for-mod? What is that.. over $15k+labor to make it all the same?? Ludicrous!!
