This event was alot of fun, very competitive, and very friendly. The PURE Tuning team would like to thank Evolutionm and the sponsors for making this weekend possible.
Also a big thank you goes out to our sponsors SENKO and PIC Performance . Without them this weekend would not have been possible for us.
It was nice to meet all of the great people there this weekend. A large Thanks needs extended to Robert Fuller of ROBI Spec for the motul brake fluid, and Mark Daddio for letting us borrow the boost controller off of his street car even though we were only 2 tenths back from him in the street class. Thumbs up to AMS for showing up in force and winning both classes.
There were some very impressively prepared cars there this weekend, keep up the good work everyone.
I have some pictures and some video I will post up later.

Thanks for the mercy Jon :-) the on-track pic ain't half bad. If you guys meet my fiancee at next event, tell her I was setting some apex-hitting record or something. Then maybe I will get budgetary clearance for a bigger turbo. :-)

Yea, Chuck and Ali sent the waitress over and she told us "that table is buying you guys drinks" I got made fun of for ordering a virgin strawberry daiquiri (I don't drink, wanted a smoothie, and that was the closest they had) but the rest of the guys took advantage and then returned the favor by buying them a round of something.
Between GSC on one side, us on another, and the EvoM bunch at the end, we had the resturant surrounded, and yes, the locals had some very very strange looks. (no food fights though, we stayed behaved)

All in all i'd like to say it was a good event. It was my first road racing experience. Mark and Jon did a awesome job at driving. It was great meeting a lot of new faces. Time to go back to normal non humid weather lol =)
I will have some of the incar videos up tomorrow when I get back to the shop.

Hey Guys,
I wanted to extend my appreciation to everyone who attended the event. It was an awesome experience and I truly enjoyed every minute of it. It was great to finally meet most of you.
I have to give credit to Seat Time for the awesome job they did helping us with the event. Jon: You and your dad were awesome to work with. I think without you guys, this event wouldn't have gone as smooth as it did.
I also want to extend my appreciation to AMS and GSC. As some of you already know, my experience a few days before the event wasn't pretty at all. Here's a basic run down for the people that don't know:
Thursday: The tow vehicle I was driving down that was towing the project evo, had a tire blow out on the highway. I was going about 50-55 mph and it was a interesting experience trying to stop the truck along with the trailer behind me.
Friday: While trying to switch out the wheels/tires on the car, I noticed that most of the lug nuts were over torqued. I had to get a local tire shop to loosen them up for me with their air gun (bad idea). Well to make a long story short, 2 lug nuts were stripped and the end result was this:
Before:
After:
Saturday: While unloading the car from the trailer, a flip up tab was mistakenly left up. The end result was my front bumper was torn off and my lower intercooler piping had this happen to it:
With all this bad luck, I still was able to get the car put back together and turn out a few laps. This wouldn't have been possible without the help from AMS and GSC. I really can't thank them enough for all the help they provided for me.
I wanted to also congratulate all the winners. It was really fun to watch you guys fly through "the kink". Just be prepared to defend your title next year.
P.S.
Martin: No more tequila shots. It almost made Charles throw up.

This event was allot of fun. just like everyone has said, it was great meeting everyone and having a chance to see all the different levels of evo's there. Congrats to jon, Mark and all the AMS crew! I know how much work goes into one of these cars and for it to work and run perfect on top of finish well is a very difficult thing to accomplish. Thanks to Greg and Leh at GSC for thier support with my little car! Next time we wont be out gunned in the HP department and Mark and Clifton will have to watch out for the 14 car!!!!!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that organized the event and give some props to the guys who did the time attack. The HPDE was truly ridicuously fun but watching professionals drive in the other classes is a humbling experience.
Modified Mag has a ton of pics of the event on their website - here
If you were on the track I'm almost positive that a pic of your car is on their site.

First off, a big thanks to all the organizers who made this event possible, I cannot even fathom the endless efforts involved. Well worth the money, tons of non-crowded track time in HPDE (wish I didn't have to leave early).
Big, big thanks to AMS guys, Pirouz and Pure Tuning for the brake fluid flush supplies.
Bigger thanks to C.J. and his excellent instruction. After many rallycrosses and autocrosses I now have a larger, more expensive motorsports addiction. Thanks man.
To all those who whine about the evo community, come to an event like this and you will see camaraderie and brotherhood. Also, you may just use your car for its true purpose. A little dirt and grime never hurt anyone.
Bottomline, the time and money was well worth it.

I would also like to thank all the AMS guys for bringing well prepared cars that didn't miss a beat all weekend. Very impressive. Especially to Martin and Justin who didn't stop working all weekend.( Be it on the AMS cars, or anyone elses)
To the GSC guys, you guys thrashed all weekend on the unlimited car trying to get all the bugs worked out. Makes for a tough weekend, but you kept your chins up and a good attitude about it, and that's cool. It would have been good to see what it could do, but 3 weeks to build and sort a car is a real tall order. Hopefully we will see you at shenendoah. Cory, I have no doubt that with more horsepower it would have been a close one.
To Robi, you were a maniac through the kink. (And I thought that dirt was for sprint cars, and rally racing. )
To the Pure Tuning team. Good job Cliff. You guys really came on strong at the end there. You guys were makin some power with that car.
Finally, a big thanks to Ali and Charles for putting this event on. It was awesome with all the track time you could want. Good job guys.
Mark
