Just to give you guys a small teaser update. There is still room in both the HPDE and competition. More Tuners are confirming everyday and we should have the entry list completed soon complete with pictures and descriptions of the cars entered. Currently we are looking at about 30-35 cars likely to compete with a pretty good mix of street and unlimited. We also have several big updates as far as companies attending and a few suprises coming soon. Look for the main event page to go up in the features section soon. We will also announce the prizes and giveaways shortly which we have several of.

Well, a few reasons. The last event we did was on the west coast, so we wanted to switch it up. On the east coast we wanted a central location. VIR would have been optimal, however it was booked as were several other tracks. So CMP was the best track the we could find in the most central location. It is also a track that not many of the competitiors have been on, so it levels the playing feild a little.

MORE UPDATES AND INFO

In addtion to the big update, me may have additional competition space available, however not for long as the competition entry deadline is rapidly approaching.

So if you are an experience private road racer (time trial, solo, etc) and would like to compete, we may be able to pair you up with a business. Please contact us from the link on the first post if you are intersted.

Same goes for vendor/tuner businesses that would like to compete

The the HPDE registrations are coming along nicely and there is still space. Please sign up sooner rather than later if you plan to enter. If you wait till the last minute we may be sold out.

There is an official hotel headquarters for this event. If you are a vendor, sponsor, competitor, or HPDE entry, we have 48 out of 56 rooms blocked off at the Fairfeild Inn in Camden, SC. Please mention that you are with the event. If you are not in the event , please hold off on this hotel untill we have a better idea of how many rooms will be taken.

Hey guys,

Jon here with SeatTime, along with driving the AMS Evo in the shootout portion, I am handling the HPDE portion of the event.

I want to encourage people to sign up, we have a list of instructors forming including SCCA championship contenders, and I want to make sure we get HPDE entrants in in time to get good pairings.

I promise this is going to be a blast of an HPDE, my dad is going to be the "chief steward" so to speak, and he makes sure everyone gets good amounts of time at the normal SeatTime events, and this will be no different.

As a track, Carolina Motorsports Park is a blast. It has a mix of corners, with the slowest being a 45mph 190' right, and the fastest being a 114mph kink (stock Evo data) In between are corners of various speeds including a 70-mph banked right-hander. There will be spots of very hard braking, places where you will need all of your acceleration, and even more spots where ballancing your car on the edge of its cornering limits will get the heart rate and tire-temps up.

The day will start with a classroom session to help you with the basics, and take some of the edge off those first track sessions. Instructors will be in the cars with you if you haven't done it before or have limited experience, and passing zones will be limited and passes will be done by point-by only so that safety is put at a premium, and a minimum of risk will be on the cars we value so much.

I am looking forward to seeing lots of people out there, and looking forward to a great event with a lot of great people and cars.

For anyone who would like, the hotel we will be headquarted at is now open to anyone who would like to stay there. It is the Fairfield Inn in Camden, SC. Make sure to mention that you are with the event which is listed under SPT Events for the discount rate. Make reservations early as we only blocked off 48 rooms which will definitely fill up. There are not many more hotels in the area either.

As for entries, we have close to half the HPDE entry spots filled, and a little under 20 confirmed competitor cars so far. Registration for the compeition will close one month before the event and the HPDE will close one week before the event or when they are filled. Whichever comes first.

Also, it has been asked a few times if you are allowed to attend without an evo. Anyone is welcome to attend and spectate regardless of car. You must have an evo to be in the show or competition. We are allowing a small number of non evo HPDE entries however you must contact us before registering a non evo.

They need to be seperate. The registration roster will be used to verify your entry.

so then, I'm assuming cars will have the opportunity to participate in both then...how exactly will that work as far as track time vs. show judging/display goes?

Judging will take place on sunday during lunch so depending on which HPDE level you sign up for, you may be cutting it close (solo is the last run group before lunch).

Thanks a lot for the info...just one last question...I am assuming since there will be so many people running HPDE and being accompanied by an instructor, that we will have to provide our own certified equipment (helmet, etc). Sometimes a track can supply this equipment, but since there will be so many people in need of it, should we plan on having to use our own stuff?

Plan on having your own helmet.

I only have 3 loaners for SeatTime, so there simply won't be enough with the amount of people I expect.

Clothing required is long sleeve/long pants... so that should be easy.
