AC compressor wont shut off.
Ive noticed this for a while. Regardless of where my thermostat and air selection knob is, the ac compressor runs...
The ac compressor runs with the hvac turned to the off position.
Everytime I drive the car, and pop the hood, the AC lines are frozen over...
Ive read through the threads, but I havent seen anyone else with this issue...
Anyone?

This includes wether the heat is directed at the floor, at me, or at the windshield. I am aware that the defrost function enables the compressor for removing moisture. Im also aware that there is a push button for the ac.. Its off, and does illuminate when pressed.
Im about ready to pull the wiring connection from the compressor, since its the dead of winter here.
Where are the controls for the hvac system? Is it a direct board controller from back behind the knobs, or does this feed into an othewise stock cars ecm?
Im running an aem ems, but highly doubt any of the hvac controls are governed there, at least from what Ive found, thats not the case...

I suppose that poses the question, on whether or not the ems has any control over the hvac system in turning on the compressor.

Mine will not come on, the A/C button stopped working, no light and no A/C even on MAX.. Just never comes on.... :-( Anyone know the cost to replace the OEM controls, I am sure it is the button itself?

Mods, could this thread be moved to the aem specific forum section?
As far as cdavy's problem.. You have two switches that can turn on the ac, I believe. One is that pushbutton, the other is when the control knob is rotated completely counter clockwise... If its not turning on, then something is amis... an 03 is under warranty, take it to Satan (see 90% of the mitsubishi stealerships)

It does not work even if the knob in in the MAX A/C position... I need to re-check all the fuses before I get too worried.
Any why would this go to the AEM-EMS section, seems to be about A/C issues? Sorry if I missed that.

My original post in this thread, spoke of the AC compressor not shutting off. Then twinscrew mentioned that since his aem ems, his compressor doesnt shut off either..
Since both of use are running an aem ems, perhaps there is a common reason, and with any luck there is something that the ems is able to do to shut it down. This may not have anything to do with you, if you are on a stock ecu, but for me and him... Perhaps there is an electronic/software fix. For now, I just unplugged the compressor.
