First run sucks. I've bogged it because it's the 1st time launching the evo. About 4-5 grand.
60FT -2.105
330ft -5.834
1/8mi -8.929 @79.53mph
ET -13.78 @101.12mph
2nd run was better Left the line with wheel hop.
60FT -1.957
330ft -5.602
1/8mi -8.684 @79.78mph
ET -13.558 @101.77 mph
3rd run engine was too warm. dragging one after another.
60FT -1.938
330ft -5.616
1/8mi -8.757 @77.57mph
ET -13.78 @98.91mph
Final run
60FT -1.888
330ft -5.523
1/8mi -8.590 @79.23mph
ET -13.522 @100.44mph
Conclusions.
Driver weight with shoes 250lbs.
I got the stupid sunroof +35lbs.
Ran on little more than 1/2 gas.
On a nice 75 degree day without all of that stupid rubber on the track I feel i could run 13.3-13.4 after I start to work out again and back to 200lbs since i'm done with the college buffet syle meals
I feel sport compact car's 1/4 is really realistic under professional drivers weighing in a 150lbs. The fact is that it is possible that mitsubishi brought ringers to compensate for the bad 91 gas there but the fact is that i'd bet my car is just as powerful at that car SCC was driveing with 91 gas. I'm running sunoco 94
I hope this is helpful to our horsepower debate.

gtr - I am assuming your Evo is bone stock?
nice trap on #2 & 60 foot on #4!
what we really need is for someone (a shop probably) to find a strip & do a ton of runs with some experienced drivers to get a nice baseline of performance so when guys like me go to the track and run 14s I can say that I suck, not the car
<---- never driven an awd performance car before... at least not one that I would drive this hard

Off course it's bone stock The whole point is to compare 1/4 mile times with all that dyno debate. Now we have a number to correspond with a dynopack dyno.

Wow! I am really impressed and you still feel you could get a faster run. Now with me driving your car being 110 lbs less, I think a 13.2 might even be possible.

I don't recall other 270hp range cars that can do 13.5's at close to 102mph. I feel the car is under-rated not over rated.

I'm also experienced in drag racing but not with awd. Hopefully I will be able to take it to the track soon and see how mine does in comparison. I have been running nothing but BP 93 octane or Sunoco 94 since I bought it. I also feel it is probably under-rated.
Did you slip the clutch on your 4-5k launches or did you do 4-5k clutch drops? It would be great to see some low 13's from stock Evo.

With a 24% drive train loss the evo should be putting out "200whp". A 13.5 in the 1/4 mile with a trap of close to 102mph and total weight of 3550 (evo w/ sunroof is 3300lbs + driver) leads me to believe the evo is underrated as well.
What octane were you using? Was this on race gas?

I said it before and i'll bold this time my car is broken in and ran with SUNOCO 94 after dealer tank and I have 1700miles on the O.D. 1 oil change at 1k. Mobile one and factory filter of course.
I did better than expected Then again I sort of expected more based on my seem to be inflated hp #. I'll try to let everyone know what the stock WRX ran on the dyno i've tested my car on.

GTR, where was the track and what was elevation if you know? I'm curious how you put down a little over 1mph faster in the traps than I did at heavier weight. Maybe it's my shifting I don't know. My 60' times were on par with yours. You probably got a strong Evo which is great. Or maybe I just need a few hundred more miles to really break it in. At 1500 now but did 1/4 at 800 miles. Thanks for the post great times.
