I wouldn't, then again I am not an expert on tuning. I couldn't tell you if it would be bad for the car or not. I just believe in having the proper tuning to match your mods so you can get the most of them.

You will be fine for a little while just let your ECU learn it, and semi expect fuel cut if you run it all the way up to 7K. I installed my 272's and had no problem at all. Remember the ECU does learn so you will be fine.

Putting in a set of cams (in theory) should not interfere with your A/F ratio. What does a bigger set of cams do? Allows more air to flow through into the head due to a change in lobe duration and lift. Since the Evo (like most modern cars) has a MAF sensor that calculates the flow of air into the engine, the ECU should account for the extra air and add more fuel accordingly. I suppose that overlap might allow some air to escape the combustion chambers, but in this case that would only make the car run rich, which is not a bad thing (won't be as powerful as it could be however).
