All the hype about the MR and the IX. How about the RS, that's the quickest of the 3!
I owned a few AWD vehicles, and so far, the 06 RS is the fastest in America thus far (until the EVO X arrives...). Faster then my STi, capable of dipping into the 12's with the right driver and under good track conditions (stock). You guys like to race, the RS was made for that. Too many Evo 8 and MR posts, and not enough RS gossip!
And the RS is rare. I had to travel from Florida to NJ to find one. A nice white one.
The car is scary. Even the comparison test that MT did on the 05 EVO line (and i was referring to an 06 RS earlier), the RS came out ahead 0 - 60, and in the 1/4 by 3/10s!

and it came out 1st when it was the GSR and the RS. I bought mine back in may 04 when most people didnt even know what an evo is let alone the RS.. best car bang for buck. All you have to have is the same setup as the next guy and you are automatically faster. I took it a step further and took out the tank of washer fluid in the trunk on the right and the spare tire, jack carpet. and also the carpet on the interior. I took the barebones racecar theme and took it a step further.
This car is sooo badass I didnt even bother with the stereo for over a yr. Just hear the turbo and the exhaust and I am orgasming all over the seat.

I didn't realize I did. I'm new and probably made an error.
I know, and it handles and brakes the same for me! Scary Car!
If an 05 did a 13.1 stock, then an 06 should dip into the 12.9s.
Of course, you gotta know how to launch and shift to get those times!
Quickest my STi was at the track was 13.10s and a 1.67 60' time.

Many consider the amenities with the gsr and MR the decision maker. I know, they aren't exaclty a Lexus-like upgrade, but as my one and only 4 wheel vehicle I enjoy the more comfortable ride my MR provides. It's more than 1/4 mile and 0-60. That's my answer for you. I imagine going to Summit Point will be just as exciting for me this summer as trap speeds and time slips are for you. Besides, when my TC grenades I'll have a big wing to push on all the way to the shop.

I didn't know my redline was @ 7200 rpm! That's where I was shifting during a test run, and the engine didn't cut out

No! I was doing a test run. Throughout the day, I drive the car within the normal shifting range for good gas mileage

the rs might be the quickest in the straightline stock for stock, but all around performance isn't necessarily the best.
