Question NJ: How much did you pay for your evo and where

Hey guys, I hate to post a redundent thread as my first post but I need your help. I test drove and evo today and loved it. I want to by one by the end of this week if not then def by next. I just need some help with how much you guys paid.

I want to print out this post and bring it to the dealer to use as leverage for why I shouldn't pay sticker. I saw that a lot of people paid 28k for thier evo, but that was outside NJ and they didn't mention the dealership.

So please help a noob get a good price on a evo and let me know where you got a good deal in the NJ area.

Thanks!
-Tom

Go to Healeys Mitsubishi in Goshen NY. They will take care of you. I payed 28k for my evo in 2003. All my friends bought there evo from Healeys. 4 Evo 8, 2 evo 9. They sold more evos than any one from the east coast. Tell them Steve O send you. Good luck!! I know its not NJ AREA.

Well first off, what are they asking for the Evo you want? My first choice was an RS that was going for just over $24k, but it sold by the time I go to the dealership the next day. I ended up getting the last one they had left which was a Evo VIII with SSL package. Ended up costing me $34k. I financed the whole amount for 6 years for $573 per month including the gap insurance. I live in central New Hampshire. On the day I bought it, when I first walked up to the car and looked at the sticker price the salesman told me point blank that they would not negotiate the price on the car. His exacts words were "This is the one car that Mitsubishi not let you negotiate the price on". I'm like, well they are not selling me the car, you are. I didn't negotiate anyway, just not the way I do things.

When i lived in Jersey I got mine at Maywood. They were okay, nothing spectacular. I got my 2005 VIII there for a little under 30,00...and it took alot of talking, and quite a large down payment to talk them down. Now that i live in NY, im about 15-20 min from Healy Mitsubishi in Goshen, theyre mod friendly, and I go there for almost everything. And I hear nothing bu good things about their sales dept.

EDIT...i think Maywood is black-listed on here. Damn, wish i knew about this site BEFORE buying my car.

Thanks guys!

To clarify, I was looking at a evo 9. No SSL, no options.

Is 28k a reasonable offer?

For an IX? Because their site says $30,229 for a GSR. "E-price"

I paid $30,800 for my IX without SSL, but they gave me $20,500 on my '03 EVO 8 on trade. I thought that was a fair deal, considering what I got for my other car. That was on the east coast though.

Yes, for IX. Don't go on their site because they are giving cheaper prices for evolutionm members.

Dang, that's a heck of a deal then! If I didn't have my old car to deal with, that would've been the route I would've taken.

Wow, he's not kidding. I just called SC Mitsu, spoke to Mike and then another Mike (fleet manager), and they can do $26,800 on an RS. He said they don't have any Evo's on the ground now but they have 20 coming in. Geez...
edit: Oh I did ask about shipping, and both Mikes confirmed that the price does not include shipping, which is the responsibility of the buyer, however they could help me find a shipping company. Sounds like they need a deposit (non-refundable) to hold one when they come in, so I hesitated. I wonder if other Mitsu dealers are willing to match prices, as shipping will probably run me upwards of $500.
