remember all 20G;'s are NOT created equal

The 6 bladed ones have more back pressure and air temp heat at high boost

the 5 bladed ones have less back pressure and low air inlet temps

Oh well. We will see how it goes. I ordered the 20G-9 Stage II (Titanium blade and aluminide cartridge shaft) from Cal at SpeedElement.com I trust buschur's testing and I know that they did a lot of R&D on there 20G-9. But since I got a great price from Cal I'll try the 6 fin design for now.

Hell, worst comes to worst I'll just cut a fin off.

There's a reason for the better price. Also, Buschur found the lightened internals to cause surging. Hopefully, you don't experience the issues Buschur found during testing.

Yea I hope so too. Once I get it installed I will post stats and a opinion on how everything goes. They say no two cars are alike. Hopefully my car likes the turbo and doesn't treat it like a virus. lol

I could be completely wrong here, so don't take what I say completely as fact but:

Turbochargers.com I believe = Texas Rebuild

Texas Rebuild I believe = company that builds Buschur's turbos....

I just thought that was funny is all...

If I remember the thread where DB talked about this.....Turbochargers.com screwed him over and copied his design. Then there were supply problems from them. I believe that was the main reason he went to FP for his new supplier. I know he did sell a few six bladed 20g-9 right off the bat

A whole lot of reading and more thinking going on but no "knowing" that I'm aware of.

Buschur would probably not sell their turbo as an "off the shelf" turbo. More than likely David is tweaking it somewhere to ensure perfection.

Nothing wrong with buying one from the Speed Element or something like that as well, just don't expect if you have a BR stg 4 equipped car that this is your best choice.

As many tuners will tell you, it's all about the right combination and not just the "best deal"

Just rambling trying to help...

buschur use to sell TC.com turbos with the six blade design.. but TC went out of stock and buschur couldn't wait.. FP just happen to have their turbos in before TC got theres in.. buschur now uses the FP turbos and using 5 blade design.. this been discuss on this forum a thousand times.. the fact is.. buschur used to sell TC turbos so i don't see why TC turbos isn't any good

The point I was trying to make to you was that although he used to sell the TC.com turbo's you have no idea if he tweaked them or not. (ye' old clipping of the turbo)

That's all I was stating.... I've known that he sold both designs and although only a handful (i think it was 5 or 6) were sold the 6 blade most of them still run it. I just find it hard to believe the way buschur does business that he at least didn't try to modify the TC turbos just not sure what final result he actually sold. He just always wants to tweak it to perform perfectly...

The secrets of the business are sometimes known and other times not known.

I'd buy a bone stock Evo IX turbo long before I would buy one of the six blade 20G "upgrades"... I have my reasons both do to performace, and others...

All I can say is I wish you luck...

Quick question for Dyno Flash and others that know alot about turbos. Once I get my turbo in the mail, how hard is it to replace the 6 fin design with the 5 fin. Is this something I can do locally if I choose to do so? Or can I just use some tools to cut one fin off?

Thanks...
