Top Fuel Dragsters are RWD and I believe they go 0-100mph in just under 1, thats right 1 second and go 0-300mph in 4 seconds......

RWD is king at the dragstrip, unless that dragstrip happens to be made of dirt.

Anyhting that runs faster than 12.0 in the 1/4 is really going to be better off with RWD. The EVO just happens to be pretty good at running good 1/4 mile times, but that is not what it is for. It is kind of like using a surgical scalpel to open letters, it works great but you are kinda missing the point.......

Have you seen how easy it is to make AWD dsms go under 10 seconds and under? Before you go making claims about the superiorty of RWD, try to EXPLAIN why it is better. If you try, you will find you can't, because RWD isn't better than AWD for drag racing. There are faster RWD cars because RWD is a way more popular platform than AWD. If more development was put into AWD drag racing, you would see that way better times could be achieved (way better than RWD could ever yield). Theoretically, AWD is the most ideal drivetrain setup for drag. While RWD cars burnout their tires from 1st to 3rd gears (or even higher) AWD grips through all the gears resulting in way faster times (even despite the tiny drop in power). Just IMAGINE a awd drag car with huge 15 inch wide slicks on all four wheels, boasting 2000 HP. Are you telling me this wouldn't destroy any other RWD car ? The problem with today's awd drag cars is that things break too easy, and RWD is a more proven platform. High horsepower AWD cars are kind of a uncharted territory.
