first time at tracks with 35R

well finally got the car to the tracks with the AMS GT35R...no stroker or intake mani...i also dont have a aftermarket clutch sooo i babyed it the whole nite..first run was a granny shift to 7000 and a slow take off with 13.2 at 118...i know 13.2 with a 35R,but i cant launch it just yet...my best was 12.7 at 123mph...still 12.7 sucks with a 35R but still babyed it and maybe eased of the clutch at like 4gs...no actual launchin etc....but the 118 trap was pump gas 20 pounds, and the 123 was a lil under half tank of pump and 5 gallons 117 with 23 pounds...so my question is if im trapin low to mid 120's what kind of time should the car be with a clutch etc?? 123 trap is a low 11 sec car i believe...i raced a el camino and he did 10.3 at 129...so who knows....well no negative comments,i babyed the car all nite...u try gettin low 11s on stock clutch...but for the most part when i did do some what of a launch it held and no smell....

well when i did the 123 trap i only had 23 pounds and mixed my gas...now if i would have had my actual MAP on there the 28 pounds and 5 gallons all of 117 i think the car would have been upper 120's cus when i tuned it the ***er moves...but yeah its easily a 11sec evo but just no clutch ..whats a good clutch for my setup.??exedy twin plate??

You should be in low 11's or high tens, depending on your driving. I did a 12.8 with only bolt-ons and a 1.8 60'. I trapped 108mph at 22psi. Nice trap speed btw

car

ya thats what everyone was saying...i mean if i launched it like a bat out of hellwith stock clutch gaurrantee the car wouldnt run right now...i know my 60 times probably sucked(track had problems wasnt reading the 60 ft) but if im trappin 123 on 23 pounds and mixed fuel then im guessin if i switched maps, put ONLY 117 in car,and did my boost to 28 what i was tuned for...then im guessin high 10's..low low 11's...but my best 60 ft before the 35R was 1.6??-1.768..i did 1.768 with 12.8 at 105 b4 35r...so my 60' are good...now i need a clutch and this bad boy wont be touched...but the tracks closed so i can save now....

You obviously are making power, but who in the right mind would ever install a GT35r and AEM EMS while still on the stock clutch? That doesn't make any sense.

Yes, the Exedy Twin HD should serve you quite well. It will take some practice to learn how to launch properly and figure out how to keep the turbo spooled between shifts (NLTS), but with 28-30psi on race gas and the proper AEM map, you can hit 10s. Just be sure your engine is rebuilt to handle that 500-550whp.

35r

ya ya i know lol..no clutch and a 35r with aem....i can get the clutch later...for daily driving it will hold....the tracks is closed anyways to rebuild a new one so i have time to get it...but i see 10's in the future...the 35R is kinda laggy..it does spool later then stock, but when it does spool.HOLD ON....it will throw you the **** back...the turbo is huge...i love the car...it takes a while to spool but 3rd gear pulls are just amazing...i love it...gettin clutch next...to be ready for new track...
