Question PA State Inspection + AEM???

Hey-
My inspection is up this April and right now the car is getting a 2.4 stroker and a GT35R. I have full AEM and do not have the original ECU or mass aif flow.

WHat the **** can I do to get this thing to pass? I don't even have an OBDII port anymore!!!

thanks for the advise!

well,

that is a concern of ours constantly, and generally why we stick with the UTEC for the subaru's and evo's.

If you find a nice personal shop, They can do a port check, and the diagnostic/emissions computer will say "can not communicate with ecu." They can then bypass the emissions test.

We saw this done before with a local AEM equipped car. There are rumors that PA may drop the emissions testing, because all of the variables etc.

We had our shop EVO fail recently because it hadnt completed the drive cycle, but it will be going back in next week.

Sounds like you have a hell of a car, good luck, and hopefully you'll get it taken care of.

cheers

well, in pa, when you hook up the port you are directly connected to the DMV, so they know immediately whether it passed or failed.

If you have 400 dollars worth of billable work to try to "fix the problem" to make it pass, you get an exemption.

My uncle owns a shop- I just don't want him to be put in any compromising position. If they did the port check, and then bypass the emissions....is that "kosher"

Thanks for all your insight

That's how I do it, otherwise it's near impossible.

You're about 2.5 hrs south of here (Wayne County). They don't do emissions tests here so if you have the time, you can drive up.
