What Does a stock Evo Sound Like?

I'm trying to compare my Evo's sound to some other machine. The stock exhaust is not loud at all, but the turbo whistles and engine has a very distinct high-pitched .... roar? under wide-open throttle.

The closest comparison I can think of is an air-cooled Porsche engine or a Subaru boxer engine. Anyone else have a better comparison? It doesn't have the loud ricer exhaust blaaaaat I expected at all.

I don't think it sounds like a Subaru Boxer engine at all.

I think it sounds nothing like a Subaru, but it does have a slightly different sound then my 2G does. But I don't have an exhaust yet or hard pipes or a BOV on my Evo.

Subaru's sound like a friggen gattling gun.

They sound cool, for a while... then kind of annoying.

Subarus have such a distinct sound mainly because of their non-equal length exhaust manifold design. If you had equal length headers on it, the sound would be way different.

had a wrx before my evo, boxer motor has no comparison. the evo motor does not sound nearly as good as a suby, no matter how long you drive it.
