My buddy uses a silencer and he loses boost pressure. Instead of 22 psi it tappers to about 15 psi

silencer should not cause your buddy to lose boost like that.

bluebyu36- you might lose 5-10 hp if that....

That's not smart at all. You lose more power with the silencer than if you still had the stock exhaust. One guy used to drive around with it, then dyno'd with and without it...he gained 40whp.

silencers arent just a bottleneck in your exhaust, more like a bottle cap

I'm just going to throw this question out there too: how about adding 2 resonators(3") to an aftermarket TBE? how much whp lost?

not too much i'd think, i think it would be cheaper to buy a resonator that replaces the cat, but thats an issue i am sure an exhaust shop could weld one in for ya, only problem is if your exhaust is stainless then it would be pretty tough to weld and cut it...

I Doubt U Lose More Power Then With The Stock Exhaust, The Stock Exhaust Is Alot More Restricted Maybe A Resonator

Please stop typing in ALL CAPS. You asked us the question and now you are telling us the answer? I told you the guy lost 40whp as proven on the dyno. The silencer is a gigantic power inhibitor...it's a huge restriction that affects boost by increasing backpressure and decreases exhaust flow by basically plugging the tailpipe.

40Whp??? Ams Told me From a Full TBE all you can gain is about 25whp.
