I guess you should have a Wartalon package ($925) capable of hitting 12's and a Warrtalon/Buschur package (for the Evo VIII at $1575) also cabaple of going into the 12's.

Working that plan right now....3000ways and 11's is quick, but the trap is usually slow 115mph ish. I'm looking for 135mph+ and low 10's, but I keep going back and forth between shucking out another 15K or going back to a Cobra which will still cost 5-7k in parts to do it right..with me wrenching.

Well, stock Evos can hit 12s, so no package is needed, but the $925 I spent was:

- Megan Cat-back $350
- Walbro FP $50
- Hallman Pro MBC $85
- Fields Harness $150 (got ripped off)
- Pocketlogger $100
- JDM MR DV $130
- K&N panel filter $60
Total = $925

I went 12.22 on these with an old SAFC and 104/93 octane mix. I didn't buy any mods since then.

I did the add up thing about 1 yr after I bought the evo. I think it came to around $3k. This is with Mods and service, and another set of tires. Since then maybe another $2k

Since then i feel like I kinda pissed away my money to make the car faster,,, only to find in a couple of weeks you get use to the power ,and then it feels like stock again? Go figure.

And reading a few posts here, i see a few people feel the same. Could have paid it off and such.

I figure the mods and service has added an extra $100 per month out of pocket, plus car payment. So Im paying around $700/ month all in all for the pleasure of driving a car that feels just as fast as it was when it rolled off the dealers lot.

That kind of money can buy a nice luxury car,,,, especially if you look at a BMW with their 50,000 free service/ parts warrenty.......thats zero out of pocket.

Thats why my next ride will be stock!!!!!!!

LOL,,,,,,, if I could part with my evo... will be paid off next year.... And the thought of having 2 cars,,, well its just kinda silly to me. So being a huge car fan,,, this evo has me in a pickle.

Its the first car I have had that Im not looking to sell/trade for an upgrade.

wow im glad i'm at work when i read this, it gave me an excuse to completely stop doing work and add up all my mods.....so everything (not including install costs, or my IX rear bumper and rims which i haven't received yet) would put me at approximately $5900....wow i didn't realize i had spent that much.

and i'm planning on dropping another 6500 soon....ouch!

My car is stock except for few cosmetic mods.

1. Works Grab Shift Knob - $40
2. A tint - $200
3. A new antenna - $35
4. Tanabe GF210 Springs - $180 (not installed yet)

A grand total of $455 which isn't bad. I don't plan on doing much to my car since the power and the looks are appealing to me as it is.

Wow! I'm an accountant and I don't think my calculator goes that high

Not including things which you don't have a choice, like new tires and brake pads.

I've spent about $5k.......I think.

TrinaBabe, I think you have me beat! That is quite a list, and unless you got smokin' deals on everything that would certainly add up fast.

I am a prime example of learning from experience. If it wasn't for EVOLUTIONM I would have spent far more on products I didn't need or that didn't work. Even with all the info on here I still went in the wrong direction a couple times in the beginning. You live and learn. When I start from scratch on my next EVO it will be a much smoother process.

fwiw, I'm at >$20k and quickly growing (way too quickly . . . ) Where did it all go

It's going to cost you a lot more than 5-7k when you throw a rod through the block! Don't get me wrong the SC'd Cobra's put down alot of power with very few mods but from everything I have seen it doesn't last.

If you want to go fast in one direction for cheap pick up an LS1 F-Body.
