Oh Boy. I wouldn't wait that long. The 4G63 is not forgiving if the timing belt breaks. Instant valve damage will occur and possibly a cracked piston. BTW, I also live in California and that didn't save my previous Mitsus from timing belt failure and pre-mature belt failure at that.

I just took a look at my 2003 owners manual and it says nothing about timing belt replacement at 90,000 miles. It does say to replace the timing belt at 60,000 miles. It says that for California, Massachusetts, Vermont, and Maine it is recommended but not required to maintain the emmisions warranty. It's cheap insurance to replace the timing belt and I wouldn't trust Mitsubishi covering a big repair bill up near the 80,000 - 90,000 mile mark even with an extended warranty. My timing belt on my 94 Talon Tsi failed at 43,000 miles and Chrysler/Mitsubishi did not cover it because they said it was past the 36,000/3 year mark and I argued with them that the timing belt was supposed to be changed at 60,000 miles. I had to pay for all the repairs out of my own pocket. Anyway, sorry for going off topic and everybody change your timing belt at 60,000 miles or earlier if you can.

I got a 95 EVO 3 with only 73,000 km on it ! belive that! thats about 45,360 miles.
I live in the Bahamas we can any import model skylines EVOs from 1 on up Rx7 silvias, anything. The eraly models are very popular her because u get strait from japan for not much money and in my case near perfect condition, almost as if some went back in time to buy it. A few sevens and eights here and there.

Actually, you're 3rd
84,xxx since Dec 03. Not one problem. Car has been well over 300awhp since about 5k miles and other than the stock clutch(replaced it not because it went, but because of the mods) and 60k maintenance, nothing has been replaced. It's my DD and it sees at least 65mi on weekdays.

I've got 53,000 on my 03 evo. Bought it about a year and a half ago with 37,000 miles on it. Only had to replace the clutch at 40,000 since I've had it. Probably going to change the timing belt soon
