both are great cars, the new sti doesnt look that bad in white other than white its just ugly. but the sti does perform and it does cost less than the mr. get over it the evo is not the greatest car ever invented nor is it the car for everyone. i like both both are great cars, is the sti for me? no. simple as that some people would choose other cars we wouldnt even consider over the sti and evo and we would think why? its all a matter of personal preference its all subjective. the evo does have more potential. but they werent testing potential they were testing stock for stock. they are both just cars so take it for what they are. they are both great cars.
and to all the evo 1/4 mile was tested slower than it is is probably because of the rev limiter the factory has on the car that mt was complaining about.

I looked into getting an STI before I got my EVO. I could not imagne driving anything but a three dimond. The new STI looks like hell compared to the older one. The one nice thing is the boxster sound and the bad *** wheels. The EVO on the other hand just kicks A$$!

I'm surprised at all the animosity between evo and sti owners. You would think each group would, in a sense, support one another. They both represent the same market segment that is oriented towards the enthusiast. Healthy competition is good.
