DSMLink in Evo last night

I was at the track and i met a guy running DSMLink out of an 95 Eclispe in his white RS. That is pretty much all i know except he was running mid 11.7's all night long, two stepping at 6k.

Does anyone have more info on this?

I heard through the grapevine that two guys local to me put a 2g ECU in an evo and got it to work with a DSMlink. i think the guy with the RS is from Maynard, but im not sure. The other guy has a Galant VR4 and lives in Marlborough, i think.

Your thread title is misleading.
It is not available for Evos.
as far as I know, he did an ECU swap and is running a DSMlink on a 2g eclipse ECU

Yep.. apparently the 2g eclipse ecu and the EVO 8 ecu aren't as different as most people think. It would be way cool if DSMlink could come out with a solution that works with the stock ecu.

Exactly. I met the guy from Maynard. He took the ECU out of a 95 eclipse and is now running dsmlink over that ECU in his RS. Another guy in another white RS had the same setup. I hope im not exposing something he didn't want the public to know.

I think what theyre doing is innovative and extremely interesting and it deserves recognition.

The only 2G ECU that will work with 'Link is a socketed one that came only in the '95 (and perhaps a handful of very early built '96's) But I doubt DSMlink supports this usage...yet.

This is definately cool.. I came across this on another public forum.. so I doubt it's something 'secret.' I don't know for sure.. but I bet it's more complicated than unhooking the stock ecu and replacing it with a DSMLink'ed 2g ECU.

From what i hear its very complicated. There is a lot of splicing involved and ive only heard of one guy whos got it "down" so to speak.

There isn't very much to splice into the harness. Theres a few people already on the dsmlink forums that have succesfully been running dsmlink on their evos. Its alot of beta testing though and we won't see any sort of "Evolink" for a very long time.

From what I heard from a buddy of mine it is only splicing and adding a couple wires into the Evo ECU. He had a buddy do it to one. Although DSMLink is planning on releasing an official bolt on DSMlink for the Evo's.

.

I have heard of at least one person using DSMlink on their evo on the east coast, but I don't have any details. As mentioned above, that person had to swap ECUs. I'd be interested on all that needed to be done
