Your car is drawing a lot of power and the alternator is struggling to keep up....Try turning all electronics on (stereo, A/C, lights, etc.) at idle and then turn them all off.....Now do the same but rev the car up to like 2500 rpm and look for the difference...
Watch the voltage gauge and check the amperage coming from the alternator.....

If the car isn't sustaining over 14 volts on idle, then you alternator is on heavy load and ur bat is going to be dead sooner or later. and the alternator will have a higher failure chance.

So imo no , its no the batt . If your idle sucks when you trun on the lights with a (good working) small batt it should still suck with bigger batt .

Sounds like a poor connection on your 12v line or perhaps poor grounding somewhere in your electrical system. Your headlights dont draw that much power and shouldn't be a big factor in this.
