Are people surprised that YOU own an Evo?
All the people at my job park in the same big parking structure. People see an Evo parked every day and they see me in the office but it might be a few weeks before they see me with the Evo and see that it’s mine. When people chat me up about my Evo they frequently say, “I never would have guessed that THAT was YOUR car”. They go on to say that I am such a conservative guy and that they thought some kid drove the car.
Do you encounter people who are surprised that you own an Evo?

I get a little bit of that, too. (Family man; professional in my 40s.) It's fun.
Best example I witnessed was when a white STi drove up next to me in my RX-8: There was a nice blond MILF driving the STi, and her license plate frame said, "Yes, it's mine."

I get that sometimes. If I were driving a Suburban or 300C on 22's, no one would probably bat an eyelash. But most people think its a pretty neat car and want to ask me about it. I'll be 30 pretty soon.

I'm very structured and restrained at work...and 40+ years old. I have 53,000 miles in the two Evos I've owned...and the kids at work are definitely surprised when they find out that I'm the owner of the wingless GG IX MR with the Motons and the torn up tires. The Evo is the perfect car for me...Clark Kent at work...Mad Max after....
