Buschur Stage 2 kit w/Deluxe I/C install pics

Hey everyone, I installed the BR Stage 2 kit plus the BR Deluxe IC over the last few days.

Stage 2 kit includes:
-UICP
-MAF pipe w/cone filter
-K&N breather filter
-Buschur mini battery
-upgraded BOV (your choice)

Deluxe I/C was purchased separately.

Here were a few of my initial questions, you might have the same ones before installing the kit:

Q. I'm running a Hallman MBC. With the stock I/C, I had one line attached to the wastegate and the other to the nipple on the turbo outlet pipe. The BR outlet pipe has no nipple, so where should I attach the second hose on the MBC?

A. I just tapped the BOV line. No issue there. Some people go to the effort to tap a nipple on the new LICP, for fear that a boost leak would cause the car to push too much boost to get the necessary reading from the MBC. Well, me and many other people have had much success intalling it using the BOV line. Just make sure you have no boost leaks (something you should be sure of anyway...

Q. I had some fittment issues getting the new I/C mounted on the car. I have it mounted loosely while I'm completing the rest of the work, but it looks like the LICP outlet on the IC is going to be hitting the frame of the car... Anyone else have that problem? I can't see how the IC will sit level on the car because I'll have to angle it to make the LICP outlet clear the frame. Suggestions?

A. I actually had to send my I/C back to Buschur and have a longer top bracket welded on. It fit perfectly after that. Mine seemed to be an exception, I know two other people that installed them with NO problem at all.

Q. Any trimming of the bumper necessary?

A. Not on my IX. I'm not sure about the VIII.

Q. Any trimming of the undertray?

A. Yes, it was easy with a dremel.

All that said, the BR parts look awesome and it's really amazing how much more simple and efficient they look than the stock parts.

And for the $10,000 question: Did I gain any hp with these parts?

Answer: Yes, but not much. And that's just fine with me.

All three dyno runs were done on Pruven Performance's dynojet, with Big Al doing the tuning.

IX Stock - 270whp

IX with Buschur TBE (w/test pipe) and MBC set at 21psi (no tuning) - 322whp

IX with Buschur TBE, 21psi and custom DynoFlash - 355whp

IX with TBE, Walboro, 21psi, Deluxe I/C, BR intake and Dynoflash - 360whp

So, I only picked up 5whp with these parts, but I wasn't out to gain HP. I purchased the intake and I/C in preparation for a turbo kit in the next year or so, and chose to take advantage of the "Tax" sale that Buschur had last month. So, what I have now is a very strong, very reliable car that'll still make great HP during the warm CT summer and has a great platform to build upon.

Here's some pics of the parts installed (note the BADASS t-bolt clamps)

nice t-bolt clamps. Those hoses should not pop off. Hold that boost partner!

Wow, only 5whp is not what I conside great by any means. I am not knocking your car but maybe I should consider keeping the stock FMIC even with around 380whp on a Dynojet (Just a estimated number). I do not plan on getting a bigger turbo.

I agree, the new FMIC is certainly not a necessity on the stock turbo. I'm going to be loving it when I hit traffic on a 95 degree humid day, though.

Now that I've added the Walboro, my current tune is rich enough to be quite safe, even with the addition of the intake. I just have so much more confidence in my setup with the new fuel pump and I/C.

There's no messing with the t-bolt clamps. I was short one for the throttle body, and you're right -- they are overkill for the BOV hoses. I ordered 1.5" clamps for the BOV hose, and they should be 1.25", so the threads are sticking out a little too much.

Wow man those are some awesome numbers! Man I really want a 9, but it's definitely not in the budget. I say you get a 20G-9 and a BR O2 housing and see what kind of numbers you come up with!

Good job, looks great, numbers look good too. I think i am sold on my upgrades! BTW, your dealer say anything about your warranty at all on your IX? I am hessitant on modding mine in fear of them saying my warranty is void now.

Come on, it's not like he put on the mods then went to the dealership to show them off. They wouldn't warranty a damn thing on that car at most Mitsu dealers, even though they are supposed to prove a certain mod caused the failure - that doesn't stop most.

If you are really worried about your warranty, then don't do any mods.
