Hey thanks for the opinions.

Couple things, one is i have plenty of time to decide b/c this won't be my daily driver. I have a 2006 chrysler sebring that i drive to work, i know its gay but its a free car (company car) so whatever.

Also i am scared of the first gen bugs that come with a totally new platform. I didn't know it would be out as a 2009 model?? man that sucks. Seems to long to wait to be honest but i love having a new car/body style at the same time. I'm interested in the MR b/c i want somthing fast, that can be modded easy to keep up with the growing number of new fast cars coming out like the new m3, supra, IS500 etc....

Does anyone know how long the MR will be produced in the US before the new X comes???

probable 2-3 years. It seems that most foreign cars will use a platform for 3 years and then change it, sometimes it's only a facelift, sometimes several components are re-engineered, as is the case with the Evo. The 8 and 8 aren't worlds apart, they're basically the same car with a few engineering differences. The Evo 8 was 03, 04, and 05. the IX came out for 06. It's more than likely it'll be here for 07 and maybe 08 as well.

If you can afford it now, don't wait, get a IX!

When I was shopping for an evo in 04, I was planning on getting the VIII MR. After I bought it at the end of '04, I kinda wished I would've waited for the IX MR, but I don't regret it every time I get in the driver seat.

I've was reading somewhere that production for the IX will end this year. I'm not 100% sure how reliable the source is, but I'd check into it if I were you.

Watch when the Evo X comes out and ppl be dying to trade their IXs' in. Its LIKE usual, ppl wanted to buy the VIII and not the IX- what happened ( THE IX was much better). THe X i admit looking at those pics and the convention show it is now my taste.

BUT the big question is can u wait 2 yrs? I dont think so and i wouldnt, jus grab a IX. Second, the Evo X will not look like that I HOPE, it will def look much better when it actually comes out and the also the new engine will have jus as much potential or even more than the 4G63.

I seriously doubt the Evo X will look like that anyways. It's still a concept and is not yet in production. When has a concept EVER looked like the production model?

I will probably want the Evo X when it comes out, however, I am buying an EVO 9 right now. Why? Ask yourself this question: How much better can the EVO really get? It has 286hp stock right now and can handle and stop like a supercar. My only gripe is the interior-but at this price point for this performance what can you really expect?

I am afraid the EVO X will start around $34-$37K and top out around $42-$45K. I am sure the EVO X will be better than the 9 despite what people are saying, I am just afraid it will be priced much higher.

I am buying the 9 with the understanding the EVO X will be better. I am comfortable with this. I anxiously await the X and look forward to driving and buying one if Mitsubishi treats me right with the EVO 9.

Those gold wheels look ridiculous, but that's not the question.

Get the MR, while it's still made in Japan. If you think the Evo has some quality issues now, just wait till it's made in America.
