Wait for the EVO X or Get a mR now???
Hey guys this is my first post on this forum. I just sold my 350z and want to get a Evo. I had my heart set on a Evo IX MR but now that i've seen the X at the NY auto show i dunno.
I know it will be some time before the X comes out....i guess my question is, Do you think it will be worth the wait? I don't care about the looks please don't post replys saying its ugly or what not. I think it looks pretty nice but lets be honest the current evo isnt' loved for its looks anyway. So here is what i'm concerned about.
1. First year cars always have Bugs and problems
2. The engine, i have read there will be changes (aluminum Block), i know there isn't much info on it but maybe you guys have seen something i havent' on it?
3. Price. I have seen nothing on price?? Seems like Mitsu is going to be pricing it higher maybe starting at 35K? Has anyone see any info on this?
BTw here is a link to my 350z, i loved the car but i want boost and decided not to go with a turbo kit b/c it wasn't worth the money imo.

the IX is based on such a well proven platform, you can't go wrong. If you have even the SLIGHTEST inkling of modding the X, you'll have to wait for quite a while before anything *good* is released.
I vote for IX MR. I friggin love mine and I'm coming from a modded STi. You're probably looking at a price hike and potential first gen problems.. but who knows.

If you can wait two years till the EVO X comes out and then wait another 1 or 2 years after several good aftermarket parts come out for the EVO X, then go ahead and wait for the X. But what would you drive during this time?
If you do not have the patience to wait 2 to 4 years, go ahead and get the IX MR
which is already tested and have all the aftermarket parts you would want.
You 350z looks awesome by the way.

I disagree with the above statements. I'm selling my Evo this weekend and have never abused, thrashed, or launched it since taking ownership. I'm not that type of driver on the street and I never had a chance to track it. My point being is that are good used Evo's out there and don't be scared to buy used.
