30 miles oneway 5 days a week makes ~400 miles a week
crappy Costco 93 with 10% alcohol is $3.10 here.

last week I filled up with costco 87 just to give it a try.
won't ever do this again, power was gone I mean totally gone.
I limited boost at 10psi and was shifting at 2k, it's ok to commute but what's the point...

I drive 30k miles a year, it definetly adds up.

I ended up buying an 04' 2500HD diesel that I love and was hoping that would cure the problem of expensive gas..

Now it has 800ftlbs of torque and I drive the hell out of it everywhere I go

Wouldn't be nice if there was a 300hp electric Evo or 300hp electric anything. I would drive by gas stations and pop major chubb at the shear satisfaction of not being *** raped by oil prices.

If you want a beater get a metro or subaru justy they can both be had for cheap and come with 3 cyl might suck to drive but in the long run will save you more cash for mods on the EVO. I have a justy it has 4WD with 1.2l and it works pretty good I have hit 37MPG I need to rebuild the carb after that I expect 40-45 MPG.

I just don't look at the pump when I fill up

..and I've also started commuting to work with one of those Rideshare (Easystreet) van pool things. $165/month for the van vs. $500/month for gas + Newport bridge tolkens. I commute 120 miles round trip per day.

Last year I drove 47,000 miles and spent around $7000 on gas.

This year I drove the Evo 4 months (before the engine blew) and put on 15,000 miles.

i drive round triip 50 miles a day for work. paying $3.40 or so for Pissed out Cali gas. Im getting 240-250 a tank if im out of boost for the whole tank, and making sure i have my windows rolled up on the freeway to cut down on drag. oh yea... i never go over 70.

Kinda sucked at first, because i didnt wanna drive my toy everyday. But i got the car to enjoy and drive. Everything fun costs money, but its worth it. its only been lately that I've been using the R1 more than usual....

But that might be because my TC is at Shep.

I drive around 35 miles one way and just got 290 off of 12.2 gallons. Comes out to around 23.7 miles a gallon. I did play with it a little bit, so i'm sure I could probably squeeze out 25mpg if I tried. I will say thi, I just dropped in some iridium plugs and noticed a big difference in the mpg's. I was only getting around 260-270 a tank, now i'm closer to 300 a tank.

i drive about 30 miles one way. but i get around 26-28 mpg, which i feel to be pretty good gas mileage so i dont complain.
