I drive 117 miles round trip daily. I don't do anything special to "deal" with higher gas prices. My commuter now (while the Evo is down) is a 14 mpg Jeep Cherokee :/

Aren't the stock plugs iridium? I have about 25K on my stock plugs which are listed at iridium in the service manual. I did notice a drop in mileage recently which I attributed initially to overfilling of the oil (a quart!) by the tech. But I'm wondering if I'll see any benefit to replacing the plugs this soon in their service interval. I get about 250/tank in town and an easy high 200's, low 300's on the highway. I may drive 100 miles a day so it adds up. I need to get a new bike and commute on that.

Not a novice @ economics, but w/ the war, + main gas lines going down (BP's in Alaska) things are looking grim...esp. since big macs on special are 2 for 2.99...economy's going to ship
