The sound is really nice - deeper than stock - slightly louder and its not obnoxious - it passed the "wife" test ! Best part is we tested it without any muffler and the 2.5" axel back is only costing us 2 hp over no muffler

Also - the muffler saved 10 lbs less weight and looks fantastic !
Al,

Thanks for the info...it sounds real promising.

What about SOTP feel when you drove it home....?

Thanks

It felt great - look at the comparison sheet to stock - - it has more power all the way across the power band - the stock car feels way too slow for me !

Yeah - and cheap also - - my dyno tuner is testing a two times bigger fmic core which yields another 30 bolt on hp - I should have that by next week - then we will be talking speed to match the handling !

GOOOOD data. Thanks for sharing! Is it safe to say the HP flatlines (or maybe even drops) after 6k? That tiny little intake manifold sure looks suspicious.

If you use the same drivetrain loss from the stock pull, you're looking at a "reported" 330hp to the crank. Nice. Interesting to see the dip around 5300 RPM in both the stock and modified pulls. Something's up there. What's the A/F ratio and ign timing look like for the runs above 5k?

It seems the stock ECU is pulling timing out at that point - its very odd - - when the AEM or LINk ecu comes out then I will start to address the timing - there is prob another 15 - 20 hp to be found on timing adjustements

The driveline is stock - and yes the intake set up looks very small - but also - the stock turbo is falling OFF of boost at the higher RPM points also

Before we condem the intake manifold I think we would need to see what the car does with a turbo that can hold 20 psi of boost to red line - which the stock one cant!

I have install the e-manage and Kevin help me adjust the timing/fuel on the idle and 3~6k range, the car definely pull much harder, all the way to 8k!! but I am in cali with 91 , below is my ignition/injection map... the idle is around 900-1000 range.. much better idle! Thanks Kev!!

I have played around with the emanage yesterday, but putting all the map back to 0s, and some weir thing happen, and after I heard a couple click click sound from the engine, "and drove around for 2 min" I had the "service engine light" on , and I reset the ecu and reload the tuned map, everything are ok now.... but I definely feel the different on the two settings, the one with the ignition timming advance pulls very hard on the top end... can't wait to see my Tomei Cams and shafts!!!

hei Al, what boost level you are running when you do you dyno? I am running at 20 now, but don't want to go higher because the 91 here... anyone know if I advance the timming more and raise the boost level will get the most out of the 91 octane and prevent premature ignition due to compression "knock"? I heard that you can advance the timing to prevent that...

Interesting - so basically you are adding fuel? I think you should test your car with a wideband O2 sensor - the evo runs very rich.

The emanage looks like a great soultion - - but maybe its better to wait for the AEM to come out ? - In the meantime the SAFC is a mere band aid temporary soultion - - the timing obviously needs adjustment at 5300
