mbc w/o a boost gauge?
just wondering if anyone is running an EBC or MBC WITHOUT a boost gauge? Reason is that i'm getting my boost gauge installed on tuesday but going to install my mbc tomorrow, obviously im going to keep the boost level allllllll the way down just to be safe, anyone run max boost with the MBC without a boost gauge?

EBCs have boost gauges included, but an MBC should NEVER be installed before a boost gauge. I implore you NOT to do it, because if you mess up ANYTHING, then you could end up overboosting without knowing it en route to a melted piston.
Did you just ask if anyone has run max boost with an MBC without a boost gauge? Why did you ask that?

Just reschedule your MBC install appointment until after your boost gauge is in. The boost gauge should be your very first mod..before even changing exhaust components. If you do O2 housing, DP, cat delete and, etc. It will affect boost delivery and most probably max boost as well, as you could get some boost creep.
If you were to do the install of the MBC wrong you could get boost spikes and w/o a gauge you wouldnt even be aware of it.

heres a quick story.
a buddy of mine got tuned with out a guage but had a mbc...
the tuner told him to get a guage imediately after and make sure to be at 21psi.
well 6 months later he finnaly puts a gauge in. discovers he running 26.5 psi!!!!!
any longer like that it would have been bad news.
if anything get a gauge first. save the mbc for last.

I wouldn't see why you couldn't install it and turn the boost all the way down. Or in the Forge MBC, it's been said that if you run the soft spring that you can't overboost.
Also if this is his first mod, he probably doesn't have a reflash. Which means if he is running too much boost it'll hit fuel cut before hurting anything.
