finally blew the stock clutch

friday night went to the track to see what times i would get. i had cosistant times, reaction times. and i beat those people that i wanted to beat.(a firend raced me so i didnt launch) anyway, i got in 7 races. and decided to take a break. went to get something to eat. and my friend told me about a team meeting that we were suposed to go to. well, when we left i noticed my car reving up to about 5k before it would move. didnt think much of it till we got to the freeway.

on the freeway when it started reving to 4-5k while in all gears. i was like $^*&!!!! the bad thing about all this is starting the 31st, i'm about to put over 6k into the car including a cluth. so all i have to say is....WHAT THE H@#$ THE CAR COULDNT WAIT 9 DAYS TO BLOW THE CLUTCH!!!! hehe.

is it really blown? or is it just just too hot to grab? I thought my stock clutch was going after some hard driving, but after it cooled down, it was and is still grabbing fine. I figured the clutch was gone, so I have a new one in my garage waiting, but I haven't had problems since the one night.

he noticed it after he took a break to eat, so it sounds like its definitly dead. Hope you got some money saved up. I never touched the blown clutch fund until necessary. Every EVO owner should have one.

well when i took the break to get somthing to eat, we didnt get into the cars for like an hour so i'm not sure(now that you menthion it) that it is blown. but only being able to go 65mph on the freeway(55 if there was a hill) made me think it was.

I hear ya man, cause I did have something like this happen to me a few months back...and its tough to say if an hour cooled it down enough. I would take it out on the freeway today and try some 5th gear pulls to see what its doing today
