Removing grille under hood...any problems?

I guess the questions says it all... a couple of my friends have removed the grille under the mesh part of the hood to reveal the color of the engine, it does look much better, but are there any problems that might arise for doing that?

when it rains, or when i wash the car for example...

Thanks..

I don't think there would be a problem with rain, If there was, we wouldn't have a big hole in our hoods to begin with.

I saw a similar post a few weeks back. Seems the general feeling was there was no harm from water, but the grille is there for a reason. Tests showed it does create a venturi effect to aid in cooling while driving. I'd be nervous with a stainless manifold, however...

Well since mine broke in half I had no choice but to take it out. The only bad thing I've noticed is that it gets really dirty under the hood in a short period of time. I usually have to wipe dust off of everything under the hood once every couple of weeks.

I just took mine out the other day and it poured like a ***** a couple of nights ago and the car was perfectly fine. You should be good.
