I am in the market for a tbe. I have a 3" tbe on my eclipse and it drones bad on the highway and I definitly dont want that in my evo. I was looking at the ams or turbo xs but am always open to other comments. Looking for experience with good exhausts that dont drone on the highway.
ps I want full 3" w/out cat.

oh man, i remember my old gs-t with the apex'i n1...that thing was obnoxious

best advice is probably a resonated high flow cat, that would be the least obstructive in terms of gas flow and most efficient in quieting the car

You're got the MR; so the lower rpm's in 6th will help. Hate to say it though, but Evo's tend to drone, it's a fact of life.

I'm debating the same exhausts too and want to avoid getting something that drones on the highway since I do a lot of highway miles.

Both AMS and TurboXS get good reviews on quality, price and hp gains. They say the TXS is loud but I heard the catback in person and it wasn't loud to me. It would be nice to hear what people think of these 2.

Not to sound like a fanboy but, the buschur with magnaflow has very little if any drone, even without a cat

Turbo XS does not drone on my MR w/ HFC and DP. Its throaty, on a 10 scale with the Greddy Ti being a 10 it would be a 7. For reference the HKS Carbon Ti would be a 4. Stock is of course 1. The Buschur TBE w/ HFC would be a 4.5. Buschur sounds fine but looks cheap.

Ive had experience with all of these exhausts and thats my feelings on them.

I have 2 bullets and a br muffler and no cat. Really quiet. No drone.

I have a HKS carbon-ti with test pipe and TurboXS 3" dp and I get no drone at any rpm. Its not the most quiet exhaust but its not overly loud.

tanabe medalion touring and helix 3 piece combo, no drone. barely louder than stock at idle and normal crusing, very nice note at WOT.

I had the AMS TBE. I loved it. WOT was awesome, little to none highway drone
