Axle Help.

While removing my transmission, the drivers side front axle was pulled on and the bearings pulled apart in the boot. It is now locked at a 45 degree angle. I thought that i could possibly take it to the transmission shop and have it rebuilt, however they told me to just call autozone and order a new one after a long unpleasent conversation, i still don't know what to do to fix the problem. My car has been up for a month and is my primary mode of transportation and my transmission should be in friday.... i'm hoping this axel situation doesn't set me back ever further. Please anyone with suggestions help!!!!

Pull the axle and the green cv joint apart stretching the boot, twist the axle it should
go back in with no ill effects. If it does not work you can to almost any shop and
they can take it apart and repack it. I did mine when my t case went I thought
it might be the cv joint the way it was binding. Most any body shop can do it also
Good luck,PS the cv joint is fill with special grease.
