It's not cheap because it's carbon fiber... Here are some pics of mine, I actually needed to buy it because some morons tied my car down wrong on a dyno and burned my bumper, so this covers it well:

That piece only has about $10 worth of carbon fiber in it.

profit margin baby. As is the case with anything, if you make/build it yourself then you can do it for material cost (and your own time), but companies have to charge not just for materials and production, but for initial setup (creating the mold to fit the Evo, etc.) and crap like that... and then we pay for it.

That's the one that I have. From what I've been told, basically all the brands of carbon fiber stuff are basically re-labeled CarbignCraft... or at least the same original manufacturer.

I was using the StreetImage carbon heatshield on my previous '03. The CarbignCraft has a more sculpted and aggressive lip above the exhaust outlet, which I think looks more bad-*** than the one I was running …

It's a slightly more costly setup, but I chose to go this route on the '06 …

Looks like the JDM bumper, am I correct in saying that? So the JDM bumper doesn't burn? I just don't like the fitment of the exhausts on that bumper, seems to hang too low. I was considering the Carbingcraft protective shield on my WW 06 MR, how is the install?
