A Funny Story About a French Dyno
I heard some news a few days ago about the dyno I went to to program my ECU.
The whole thing dates back to when we (my tuner and I) needed tpo adjust the ignition timing and went to a AWD dyno in France. He called this place that has an AWD dyno and asked what kind of a dyno it was and what kind of power it could handle. They told him it's a Dynojet good for 500 bhp. So we go there.
Turns out it isnt a dynojet, but some crap Italian dyno, not good for 500 bhp, but only 400 bhp. We travelled a long way so we ran the car there anyway.
First few runs were ok, we just got readings etc. The torque curve was falling off at 5000 rpms so we added some timing, then some more. All of a sudden, the dyno stalled and the car jumped a little on it. Despite us adding timing, the curves looked worse than before. Fuel was spot on. Strange, we thought, and left.
A few days ago, some Subaru guys (customers of my tuner's) went to the same place to check their mods effects and how much power the cars make etc.
The runs gave very strange results, a small French "hot hatch" (Civic type of thing) putting down more power than the WRXs (impossible). So they asked WTF was up with that. The guy said "I dont know, ever since that grey Evo was here a few months ago, the results are very strange".
Conclusion: I broke that ****ty dyno!

The place is in Montpellier, or close to it. The guys were being so arrogant because they have one the the 3 or 4 AWD dynos in France, but it sucked. And now it sucks even more!! LOL

I hear Mark's changing your official title to Official Evolutionm DynoKilla.
Approx how much do you think you're putting down anyway, Claud? I can only imagine since you busted their crappy dyno (but hey, a crappy dyno's gotta at least be pretty strong, right?)
