HKS GT 2835 turbo kit
Hey guys I have the oppurtunity to buy a used HKS GT 2835 Turbo kit and I was wondering how much HP i can get out of my car on PUMP GAS ONLY. I have searched for this turbo and it seems like a lot of speculation but no hard facts.
My mods are:
HKS 272 Intake Cam
HKS 272 Exhaust Cam
full 3" Exhaust w/test pipe
Megan Manifold
Megan 02 Housing
Buscher Racing 10.5 Hotside
Cone Filter
Dynoflash Custom Road Tune
Hallman Pro Set at 20psi
Forge BOV
ACT 6 Puck Clutch
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
Now if I was to upgrade do you think i could have a 400WHP daily driver or is 400 to high on this turbo? I see some speculation comparing this to the t06-20g so in this case can I be at 400+ to the wheels. Thanks guys for any help I appreciate it

this is the deal with the kits. I have the oppurtunity to pick up the GT 2835 or a gt35r.
Both being in the same price. The 2835 comes with everything but the downpipe. The 35r comes with the following "Garrett gt35r Turbo kit, megan manifold, tial wastegate, downpipe, garret turbo with atp back housing, the turbo was polished and has under 300 miles on it since being installed in the car... the car was dynoed and made 450 on 20 psi and 93 oct on stock motor!!! im looking to get about $2200 for the kit obo"
Which kit would you guys go with. Also with the list of mods I have what will I have to add to the car to have it run correctly. What I have come up with is 880CC or 1000cc injectors, Arp Headstuds, and I would be getting a jestr tuning flash!

There are several different versions of the GT2835. You need to find out what compressor and turbine trims the particular unit has. HKS rates the "smaller" GT2835 at 380hp and the highest "R" version is 420hp.

Don't buy the HKS kit, I know a lot will argue and say "It's JDM so its the best" well its not, When those manifolds are pushed they crack, It has happened a lot, I like HKS a lot but I do not recommend there Evo manifold, It has cracked numerous times, The ATP kit I have heard a lot of crap about but also some good stuff, Just do some research on all the parts of the kit instead of just the flow rate. Cause both aren't that great and there are lots of better ones out there, I say look into a 50 Trim Kit.

well ones going to be laggy and the other is going to have quick power if its daily driver i'd get the 28 but i daily drive my car and i have a fully built HKS GT 30 and its laggy but made 496whp but im pushing the turbo there, you can make a bit under 400whp with the one u want there

I appreciate everyone's feedback. I would really like to have a 400whp daily driver. I guess I will go with the 35r. Now my question is with my mods. "See First Post"
What else am I going to need. To get this up and running.
The 35r comes with the following "Garrett gt35r Turbo kit, megan manifold, tial wastegate, downpipe, garret turbo with atp back housing, the turbo was polished and has under 300 miles on it since being installed in the car... the car was dynoed and made 450 on 20 psi and 93 oct on stock motor.

I would definately get the HKS GT2835 ball bearing unit. Fast spoolup, instant power and the closest think to stock spoolup you will get.
The ATP proprietary housing that bolts to the stock manifold is the worst piece of crap ever designed for the Evo. GT40R spoolup on a GT35R, no thanks. Hit the gas and pack a lunch as the driver next to you pulls 4 cars on you. Don't make that mistake like others have.
