possible remedy for slight 2nd gear grind.

This is for those who have slight 2nd gear grind or crunchy 2nd gear.

I have slightly over 1000k on my 06 and had slight grind or crunchy 2nd gear shifts.

I've adjusted the clutch (there is a how to do on the forum) and it shifts like butter now.
Slight grind is completely gone now.
This is a very easy adjustment and is highly recommended to those who are expreiencing slight grind.

I believe if you keep driving the car with a slight grind for a extended period of time, this will eventually cause damage to your synchros.

Just make sure you turn the clutch rod no more than half a turn at a time and test drive it to get a perfect setting.

Yep, did the same thing on my '03 -- worked like a charm.

What impresses me is 1000k miles .. as in 1,000,000 miles .. j/k

go to www.evomoto.com and look on top of the page for install tips.

There should be a lot of info on how to's on that page.

Another wesite is www.lancershop.com

It's really not that hard to do.
All it takes is maybe 10 minutes tops.
You just need a 12mm open rench.

higher.

When you are adjusting you want to turn it clockwise.
This is when you are looking down towards the firewall.

When you are looking up towards the steering colum from the floor of the car, you want to turn it counter-clockwise.

I am not saying this will cure all the problems with shift grinding but it will cure most of it.

I did it to my car last week and it has cured all the grinding/crunchy feel of 2nd gear.
