In most cases the longevity of an engine (and drivetrain) is directly related to how hard it is run (or abused). Obviously the more power and torque you have, the more demands it puts on all of the mechanical components.
Running an engine over rich (stock ECU map) is hard on any engine. The raw fuel has a tendency to wash the oil from the cylinder walls and helps to contaminate the oil. Just this aspect of a good tune will help the engine life, how much, who knows.
I just got my Dyno Flash EFLASH installed and cannot believe how much smoother the car runs under normal driving conditions. It does pull like a demon now when you stand on it.
I do know that I usually change my oil at around 2500 miles and it is actually a little stinky at that point (faint smell of fuel).
I can tell that my car now cruises a lot better at freeway speeds and will be interested to see if the mileage picks up at all.

I have guys driving my flash tuned evos now for 3 years and some with over 100,000 miles - not one tuning related engine failure today edven with over 3500 of these Dyno Flash mad men on the road
In reality the flash tuned evos experience less engine related failure than 100% stgock evos
I will not lie though your clutch is going to take a beating when you start making the big power
