i think its based on how many cars made per year versus the amount stolen like a ration of 6000:600= 10% risk factor for the insurance company=higher premium....

 

find this hard to believe. i am guilty of locking myself out. i must say it is a pain in the *** to unlock the car doors. unless the thiefs are beating their way into our cars. its hard to believe these claims

 

It hurts soo bad when people talk trash over the internet.

 

 

i've also been told this from a coworker and my mother. but really in the south florida area, the big thing about here is still K series hondas and acuras. i have yet to see anybody come looking for an evo and they come around my house. their gonna be in a world of hurt! lol

 

i agree.. i doubt our cars are one of the most stolen vehicles! i find it very hard to believe they conducted a survey on this car, there is barely any of these cars out... here in south florida honda k series motors and s2k seats have been the primary target.. those get stolen in large #'s every day!

Last week, in the Chicago Sun Times, the Lancer Evolution was actually listed as the #2 most stolen car in the nation, right after the Cadillac Escalade.

 

Heard it on a national MSNBC broadcast "The Evo is rated the 2nd most stolen car behind the Cadillac Escalade". My theory is that they're mostly taken for brief "joy rides" then abandoned. Since the Evo have such a good rep. for being a fun car to drive, many punks take em' to see how they handle. Their local Mitsu dealership won't let em' take one for a test drive I guess.
