I hope the owner is not saying it has low 400whp, and if so, I hope you didn't believe him...

It likely has less than 350whp, and you will need a LOT of supporting mods to run a GT35R. You don't just slap one on and go. You would need a standalone ECU, bigger injectors, new manifold, new downpipe, new LICP, new wastegate, new FMIC, and maybe a fuel rail + FPR.

I don't see how you say you can't afford an 05 or 06, but you can afford to go and mod an older Evo up to 500whp where you'll have to worry about tranny upgrades, $2000 clutches, diffs, engine/head upgrades, etc etc.

for one... the supporting mods were not al listed. He had a smaller turbo planning to go on the car... kit actually comes with the car... it was a 307something... one down from the gt35r... also it already has a brand new clutch, and stroker with low miles.... bottom lline is that I am walking away from a very fast car... probably 600rwhp range for most of its life. It sucks, I gave driving a heavy car with some power that looked awesome but didnt compare in power... I loved the car but always hated myself for not getting something faster. If I buy a 9, I will already be dropping close to 10k more then I will for the used car... which yes it is used. But I am going to need at least 7 on top of that already 10 k to put it at 500... say it is even half that ... say the 9 is so amazing it will only take me 3.5 k.... thats 13k more than the used car. I plan to swap the 307 and some cash for the gt35 and he is already has 880 cc injectors. With the built sroker ... all I am going to need is the rest of the supporting fuel systemm a clutch and an aem system..... the clutch will last me til I burn it out and since it is an exedy stage 5.... it should be too bad if I dont track it or lauch at 5k.... so all that is really going to cost me is the fuel system and the (pump and rail... maybe larger injectors but on trade) and the aem computer... that is what 2k-25000 tops..... in the end I am saving 11k if I were to do it new. Despite the fact that I will void the warrenty the second day I have the car, and all that is done to the used car I plan to do anyways. ine... Sorry if I am rambling... end of law school finals... so I am not exactly :right"... just let my drunk logic play out. Then tell me I am a moron in the morning... bottom l hate the 9 frount facia with a passion, and would have to go to a jdm rear bumper as well. So all in all, I dont even like the 9... other than the mivec... I like that and the acd.... but i dont 13k like them... and I am liking the insurance for an 03 campared to an 06.... I admit, you right, I should buy a 9, but I wont beause I am too cheap and lazy to do the mods I want to. There it is... I am the least patient person ever... soto have to wait to have the car right for e would drive me nuts.... rather buy used with 80% complete than new with 0% complete mods. Self proclaimed moron... but at least I have made my peace with that.

Well I don't know what happend to specials at South Coast, I logged onto their website, and prices are back to MSRP, is the sale still going on. Also there are plenty of 05 EVOs for sale for under $28,000, I did a quick search-
