Is having an Evo a waste if daily driven?

PANGES, yes x10. I've changed out the HU in every car I've owned. Factory units are garbage! Although I haven't gotten around to doing it yet in the Evo, it's doing fine for now. But first opportunity I will get rid of the factory one for something different.

I loved driving my 03' EVo VIII everyday, so I could keep the miles off my Typhoon. When I got rid of it, the car had 39k on the odometer in 05', I purchased it July of 03'. I loved the car so much I want another one and it might be a 06' GG IX MR. At least I can keep it garaged and put the mileage on the X-Runner.

I only like driving mine on nice days. Seattle/Renton area is pretty crappy to drive my Evo in, at least I think so. And I like about 5 miles from work so I dont like not letting it get a good warmup before it sits all day. However at night and on the weekends I have fun with it.
I think it all depends on your own situation

MY evo IX is my daily driver and I am loving every moment of it, there's just no better feeling than getting off work to hear my engine idle...awww...the sweet sound of the 4g63...brings me endless joy .

I'm guessing you mean daily driven but never raced? Yes, I consider that a waste, but that's my personal opinion.
I daily drive mine to/from work, gym, sports, grocery store, etc, but I also race it religiously as often as I can (drag, auto-x, circuit, rally-x). If I didn't race it often, then it would be a huge c0cktease. All that power and all that handling without being able to ever use even 50% of it. It's like foreplay without the sex.
