Replacement Fender Panels
Can anybody find part number and vendor of an Mitsubishi manufactured aluminum fender for the Evo VIII?
The OE fender's are aluminum, but the Mitsu factory replacements are actually steel. I was very surprised when I found this out, but I checked insurance adjuster software and sure enough, the panels mitsubishi sells and recommends are steel.

Please read the post more carefully. I don't care about the price and I'm not trying to acquire one. My point is that places like Farmer's Insurance only have a steel replacement panel available in their system. I checked their internal database this morning. Most people assume it's Al because the OE one is, however the replacement one I saw was specifically marked as steel.

no... thats what they want to give you
I had ap roblem with my wing w/ insurance... they see the OZ rally wing @ 400 bux
where my wing is 1500 bux.... see their difference
you have to go to mitsu, give them your vin, get a printout of the part (fender) and price and give it to them
Insurance purposely does thsi

Everybody go back and read my post _again_. I'm not going to the insurance company or filing a claim or anything. There's no shennagans going on. I simply have access to their database and noticed this odd fact.
At this point though I just think it's a bug in the database. Evo fenders (even replacement ones) are all Aluminum, whereas the Farmer's Insurance DB plainly states that the OE one is Al, but all replacements are steel.
Anyway, mods can probably close this now.
