Engine coolant expands when it gets hot, so if you filled up your radiator, and without anywhere for the coolant to go when it expands, it would blow out somewhere from the pressure. So when the car warms up, it pushes coolant into the resevoir as it expands, and when it cools and contracts, it pulls it back out and into the system.

perfectly normal. Check your coolant level when the car is cold at the radiator cap. This will give you a better indication on your level. Always make sure you see coolant at the cap. And if you don't, fill it up to the top, and if you overfill, it will be pressed into the overflow.
