Just Got my EVO IX
I picked up my New 06 on 6/6/06. This is actually my first Standard Car. I had an RSX before I traded it in. It was a piece of cake driving stick. I learned in about 2 hours. It only stalled on me a couple of times. I read about how the car is not supposed to jerk. This happens to me sometimes. It happens to me because I try to shift at 3500rpm because of the break in period, and I guess I dont have enough speed. How fast do you guys release the clutch when shifting at those rpm's? They also told me that I have to change the oil at 1000miles. Then disconnect the battery. After that, drive like a bat out of hell, and the car will respond that much better.
When you guys are at a red light do you guys keep it in 1st gear, clutch in, so when the light turns green you are ready to go. Or do you just keep it in neutral. Then on green clutch in first and gas.

congrats and welcome. i got mine on 3/6/06 and love the car to death. the manual says to keep it under 5k rpm for the first 600 miles. also, you should do a lot of boosting but just keep it under 5k. at a light, i usually keep it in neutral. i got my first oil change at 1100 miles, and never heard about the disconnecting the battery part. anyways, enjoy the car, you will love it.

The evo's ECU isn't adaptive to the driver. It's actually set to optimal performance and goes down from there (safety mode) if anything's wrong.
