Thanks for the compliments.
All in all, I wanted to make something myself. I have been working too much on custom turbo projects for friends and on my previous car to want to just buy brand name items. I just purchased a few bends and went to town.
If you really wanted to calculate savings.
Mini battery setup
85 bucks
UICP
~200
LICP (next project with left over pipe from the UICP project)
~40
Intake
~60
So, for a total of about 400 bucks I will have changed all the pipes on the car to shorter routes plus added the battery kit. And I had the chance to rip apart the car and put some wrench time in with some friends and some beers

Well I had the chance to make the intake pipe from the compressor inlet to the air filter. I had to add the recirc tube and i tapped a hole for a fitting to go to the boost control solenoid
Total cost of intake, 60 bucks.. not too bad for just a dumb engineering student.
No stumbling at idle or any hesitation. I am taking it easy with the car as add parts until it is ready for a tune though and I will see just how good/bad these homemade parts perform.
Also, it poured down rain last night, no water on the filter. I am not worried about that at all. We had about an hour of downpouring without any water on the filter. I guess if you plan stuff out a little, sometimes it works.

Looks great. Its good to see people in the EVO world starting to make their own parts. Even if it cost about the same to make as buy, its still cooler to make your own parts
