when you have outstanding credit and a history of large purchases (car, house, boat, etc.) then banks will offer more to try to get more.

anyway i would not do that. Id play the build-up game like everyone else. If you should do that 20K extra mod the evo out you'll get bored so quickly with it and want to sell it within the year.
If you, however, play the slow power game (buy mods when u can afford em) then you'll be much more enthusiastic about your car and the performance enhancements. my $.02.

Definitely agree with the others on buying a house first. It'll force you into saving. You'll be surprise how much you can save! Then in a few years once you're confidient with your budget management skill, buy a nice sport car and start modding it. There will always be a ton of car that is better/faster than yours so you just be happy with what you get ... damn! I'm trying to convince myself here as well ..... The mod-disease is slowly eating inside out -- you'll eventually have got to cure yourself with some madness. Do what you like but look at it as if you're looking back 5 years from now.

wow, that's all i have to say, i never thought anyone would put a loan ontop of their car loan just to modify the car. I think you're either 16, or this is your first race car. I say just buy the mr, and slowly modify by saving up for it. Don't pay interest on your parts and if you do, do it by credit card where you can pay it off faster, not meaning putting 20 grand on a credit card, but a grand here and there, and then paying that off and doing it again, it'll be a lot cheaper than financing an extra 20 grand. Come on man, it doesn't take a genius to do that, do you think that we're all gonna get excited cause you have money to work on your car? we're all car enthusiast, but we're realist at the same time. I dont' just waste my money on my car, i have investments and other stuff. Secondly, is your parents paying for your car payments or are you working to pay for your car? cause one grand a month, damn man, go buy a condo!!! that's a mortgage payment.

This reminds me of myself at 18 years old. I was the same exact way! I am so lucky I found someone that showed me the world of real estate. WOW. I recommend that you take your 20k and go find an investment property. There are a couple good places to look for these, right now Arizona and Texas are hot. I would recommend starting off with one of those states. Once you find your place, start looking for a management company (trust me on this one, you dont want to deal with all that crap). Make sure the management company is reliable though, because, you will get yourself into a lot of trouble if you dont do your homework. Usually, the management company will take a small percentage per unit (it's not as bad as some people might think). So, once you have your property and your management company you are ready to move on. You will need at least a 20K cushion at all times, but this wont be a problem after the next couple of years. There are a number of fees that you will have to pay (HOA, tax, etc) and I dont want to get into that because it is not important. SO! Close the deal already, what are you waiting for? Put as little down as possible and the management company will start working to get people in your condo. Charge your tenants on a monthly basis and that will take care of most of the mortgage (you will still have to pay a little bit out of pocket but that is OK) After the first year your going to refinance that motherFer and you will have a big smile on your face. Then guess what you will do when that is all finished? Retire? Sleep? HELL NO!! DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN! Try not to spend your money on stupid things

That would only last you half a year. That's a horrible investment.
