Trunk Repair Options...

So I was just out washing the evo and I found some small dents on the top of the deck lid. On the top above the emblem. It looks like knuckle marks. I'm guessing some scumbag punched it in a parking lot or something. Its right in the middle on top of the supporting interior sheet metal so I can't get it from the inside of the lid. So now I'm stuck with trying to figure out repair options.

The way I see it, I could:

(A) Get the dents filled and have the deck lid repainted.

(B) Get an after-market lid (does anyone make CF lids that fit the 9s?)

(C) Maybe try "paintless dent repair"

Any recommendations/suggestions would be appreciated.

Oh and BTW my evo is an RS without the wing. I suppose this may not have happened like this if I had one.

If they are minor dents, I've seen these dent removers that use strong suction cups and a screwing mechanism that might be able to pull the dents out from the outside.

Hope this helps. They are pretty small dents and difficult to photograph. But they definitely need to be repaired.

*edit* deleted text. you posted pics while I was typing.

I would call a dentless repair guy first and he will tell you if he can or cannot do it. The majority of them are mobile. They will come to you. Its a FREE estimate.... Then go from there.

I would find a good paintless dent repair co to take out the dents we use them at the dealership all the time and thay do a great job and it should only cost
about $50-75 bucks.

I had a dent similar to this on my old car. Cost me $70 from a paintless dent removal company.

Well thanks for the encouragement everyone.

So this morning I went to what looks like a pretty popular paintless dent repair shop here in Raleigh. They said they could do it Tuesday for $129.00. They said they are not 100% sure they can even do it because of the structural metal on the inside of the lid. I guess I'll know more on Tuesday.

$129 is a good start to an aftermarket deck lid. Do the ones made for the evo 8s fit the 9s? If it does, is it a good option?

On another note, I wish I was just mugged for the $129, instead of going through all this. I'll never understand the satisfaction gained from anonymous vandalism.

*sigh

Thanks again
