it's pointless using them if you don't have a dog box, you'll wear out the synchros pretty quick
You'd not wear out the synchros any faster using the sequential shifter properly than you would shifting quickly with the stock shifter, and you'd destroy the synchros (or your motor) much faster missing a shift or shifting from 5 to 2nd, which can't happen with a sequential.

In response to another comment, a dogbox does not require using a clutch to shift after you start rolling -- you simply lift a little on the gas to take a little stress off the geartrain, and shift VERY firmly so you fully engage the dogs in the slots. A dogbox will take .5 seconds off most 1/4 mile times. Using a dogbox with a sequential shifter gives you very fast, failsafe shifting.

The link seems to be dead at the moment, but they have a version with an electronic ignition cut. I think it's supposed to allow clutch-less upshifts with a syncro trans. A bit pricey, though ($2200)!

reverse, you put it in first gear and use the lever. it's anoying though

i got one of these shifters and it is the real deal. I do have a dogbox though, but still you guys should check these out
