Unhappy My EVO is mad at me....

OK, I think something is wrong.... I've been driving my '92 Miata a lot lately and my EVO MR has been parked and driven very little. Anyway, I noticed the last time I gassed up that my mileage was pretty bad. I think I got something like 17.5 mpg or so. Well, I just got back from filling up again and I only got 16.7 mpg ..... If I did not know better, I'd think the EVO is mad at me for ignoring it and giving me $hitty mileage in return for driving the Miata

Whatever the reason, my mileage seems to be going from bad to f-ing worse! What could be happening? I don't understand what could cause this. I did not drive it very hard for the last 164 miles.... Sure, it was mostly around town, but I used to average 20~21 mpg for all around driving. I started driving the Miata for the gas mileage, but since I supercharged it the mileage in it has dropped to the low 20's ... Now the EVO has dropped over 20%! Any ideas? could something be wrong with my EVO?

Thanks

the only thing wrong i would guess is you were driving a miata, and now you are in boost a lot to catch up on withdrawls from lack of acceleration

Try some fuel injector cleaner if you haven't done so in the past 6k miles.

LOL, that's funny ... But no, I have not been on the loud pedal any more than usual. Actually, I've tried to drive conservatively and BTW, the Miata is no EVO, but it's surprisingly quick at 2300 lb with 141 rwhp

Yeah mostly, but that's nothing unusual. In Georgia we tend to run the AC all year around (well, almost).

I have not used that stuff... Maybe it's time to try some?... I'll consult with my buddies at the Miata shop and see what they recommend.

Thanks everyone for your input. If anybody else has any ideas about why my mileage got so bad, please respond.

Dont use the STP crap. Use Chevron Techron- recomended by Porsche/BMW. I put a bottle in with every oil change
